The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is an event which is inspired by performance collective Shambush’s ‘The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience’ which took place in Brighton in 2013. At this event Shambush attempted to set a world record for the most people dressed as Kate Bush in one place. After Shambush, The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever events began to be held in various locations around the world where participants recreated the music video for Kate Bush’s 1978 hit Wuthering Heights.

In 2018 Sandgate resident Peter Burkinshaw convinced some of his friends to organise a Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever event in Folkestone, which was held on the Harbour Arm. This event had in the region of 300 attendees. A similar event was held in 2019. Between 2020 and 2022 a combination of coronavirus and lack of desire prevented further events in Folkestone, until Jo Blach convinced Toby Cotton to organise further events in 2023 and in 2024.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever Folkestone will be held on Folkestone’s Harbour Arm on Sunday 20th July 2025. The event will be free, and no registration is required to participate. 

There will be two dances, one at 12 noon and one at 4pm with Kates gathering at the old Harbour Station to parade along the arm beforehand. A warm-up and rehearsal will also take place in the Goods Yard before the first dance takes place from 10am until 10.45am.

Everyone is free to join in, we only ask that you wear clothes which resemble what Kate Bush is wearing in her Wuthering Heights video (the one where she is wearing red). It is also a good idea to have some knowledge of the dance moves before you arrive. You can use our instructional dance video to help you with this – the video is available below.
